Just released data from DoT, tip via Nick Grossman of Open Plans.

The Office of Metropolitan Architecture has partnered with the European Climate Foundation and others to create Europe’s 2050 Roadmap for decarbonization. Not much up on the website yet, except for a very clear video, screenshot here:

I’m posting this movie here because it clearly uses well-annotated diagrams to enable the viewer to read explain complex subjects. Overall it’s not our style (the music alone…), but it does make math look pretty.

Location- West14th Street and 9th Avenue/ Hudson Street
Issue- The confusion of the grid system changes to tourists between West14th Street and 9th Avenue/Hudson Street to to West Houston Street and 6th Avenue
Design Users- Lost tourists (majority) and the residents (minority)
Solution -Creating lost experience more enjoyable for the users, and bringing the lost users back to where they were.
Design Proposal- An interactive system designed to be of navigational form in aid to people who are lost in West Manhattan.
